As vehicles travel down the assembly line,
Atlas Copco units are used to torque down screws, nuts, bolts and other
types of fasteners. The information for each fastener may or may
not be accessable from workstations within the plant. The KEI-965
takes care of this by providing an interface for the torque and angle data
to be transferred to the Plant Floor Communication System (PFCS).
As PFCS is the data collection system of these individual plants, this
data would be of help for monitoring and charting the assembly line for
problem areas. This unit has been CTC Certified and went through
extensive testing by both Kemkraft and several Chrysler Plants which, by
continuous reliability that is proven with each data transmission, has
resulted in the replacement of existing units that lack the reliability
of the KEI-965.
The KEI-965 will seamlessly integrate into
the data collection process. Setup is as simple as supplying a RS-232
drop with Chrysler’s standard 25-Pin D type connector and powering the
unit. The Machine ID is received from PFCS, the torque and angle
data is passed to PFCS in a consistent data string built upon the data
received from the Atlas Copco.
